Playing Career
John grew up on Long Island, where he developed a passion for the game through his father, a professional player. As a youth, he played in Baldwin before moving on to a standout collegiate career at Hofstra University (1986–1991). After college, John continued competing at the adult level for clubs including Baldwin, Garden City, Mineola, Integral, and Glen Cove. Today, he remains active as a player with the NY HOTA Bavarian SC O-50 team.

Coaching & Leadership Experience
John began coaching in 1992 as the head coach of Garden City High School’s junior varsity team, followed by two years leading Waldorf Academy’s JV boys program. Later, he joined AC Glen Cove Soccer Club, where he took on significant leadership roles, ultimately serving as Club President from 2008–2016. In that role, he managed and coached three men’s teams (Open, Reserve, and O-30), working with players ranging from ages 18 to 45+.

At NY HOTA
Since 2018, John has been an integral part of NY HOTA Bavarian SC, currently coaching and training the 2010 and 2013 age groups.

Philosophy
Influenced by his father’s professional career, John emphasizes the fundamentals of technique as the foundation for player development. His approach builds from technical skill to control, awareness, and tactical strategy. He believes in teaching ball possession, pace, and rhythm as keys to developing intelligent, creative players for the next generation.
