The name HOTA stands for Hotel Workers of America. Our emblem, shared with more than 20 HOTA clubs worldwide—particularly in Europe and South America—symbolizes this international connection.
From the very beginning, NY HOTA Bavarian SC has stood for “Good Will” among all people. Players who have worn our badge over the years represent a truly global community, with members coming from more than 30 countries.
The earliest chapter of our story began with S.C. New York, Inc., founded in 1922. This original club was based in Throggs Neck, Bronx, and later absorbed the Wiener S.C. within its ranks.
S.C. New York was more than just a soccer club. It fostered a diverse athletic community with programs in tennis, track and field, boxing, rowing, and bowling. During this period, the foundation for the club’s junior soccer division was established—a commitment to youth development that continues to this day.
In later years, S.C. New York merged with HOTA, uniting under a shared identity and expanding the club’s reach. That merger carried forward the traditions of both organizations, strengthening NY HOTA Bavarian SC as a lasting institution in New York soccer.
Today, with more than a century of history behind us, we remain dedicated to developing players, building character, and fostering community through the game.
